Cruising part II

I regret not taking pictures of the ports but honestly the beaches weren't that spectacular.  I went on a cruise to the Caribbeans back in January and the islands were nicer. So if you're thinking of going on a cruise go to the Caribbeans (or better yet, Europe :D)

Overall the vacation was great.  I'm sad to be back but I missed my cats so much!! They ignored me and were all over my sister's fiancee >:(

View from the ship
First meal on the cruise.  Buffet lunch..I don't care for buffets.. I think buffets are kinda gross.
We went to an art auction because they were giving free champagne haha

Chris and I were looking at the specialty restaurants ever since we decided to go on the cruise with his family.  We first wanted to go the French restaurant but nothing really stuck out.  His cousins went to the Brazilian BBQ restaurantChurrascaria.  They kept raving about it so Chris and I decided to go.  Oh yeah they liked it so much that they ate with us.

Early bird special~~ One free bottle of wine for every couple! We decided on two reds and one white.  I'm not much of a wine drinker so Chris gave ours to his parents.
Chimichurri!

Fried bananas (OMG SO GOOD!), black beans, rice, and mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes were made out of the box but they were pretty good LOL.  I ate mostly the beans...I tried to avoid carbs on the cruise.
Chris's ceviche.  Ugh. his cousins kept saying the fish is cooked by the lime juice.  It's not COOKED. Fish is MARINATED in lime juice. There is no heat involved.  Proteins are denatured by the citric acid.

All you can eat salad bar haha.  Omg. I LOVE fresh mozzarella and tomatoes!

Okay so with Brazilian BBQs, each server goes around to each table with a skewer of meat.  Each person gets a card that's red on one side and green on the other.  Red means stop and green means go meaning the server will go to you and give you a slab of meat on your plate.

Bacon covered chicken.

It was OK. Too salty
I think this was either the garlic beef or filet mignon? Both were good. I liked the filet the best
Chicken was excellent

Sausages. They were so salty.

Haha you can see that my card is green for go.  The ribs weren't anything special.
My favorite was the grilled pineapple!!!!! It was marinated in brown sugar and then roasted on the grill for five minutes. I'm definitely going to try to replicate it soon!

Papaya cream for dessert :)

Oh and I wish I took pictures but it was very sudden and random.  We saw dolphins jumping out of the water!

The restaurant was awesome.  Just like the rest of the cruise ship, the service was spectacular.  They really do go out of their way to make you feel special.

So we ate at the restaurant on the last night...and slept for hours. We missed the last night show :( and since I had to pack I stayed in the cabin while Chris went out to play poker.  (BTW he won big!!)

We ordered room service because he had 7 dollars left on the card.

We stayed up to 5AM watching You've Got Mail while eating on the bed.  We woke up at 7AM to get ready :/

I can't wait for my next vacation! :) I saved enough to go somewhere now but I want to go somewhere during the winter.

Cruising part 1

So I finally have a new computer! I'll post pictures of it later...all the components and the final build.  It took a total of ~6 hours to build cause it was our first time building.  I still have problems with including more ram but 4 gigs is enough for gaming.  Wheee!

Here are the cruise pics! I brought my Polaroid but kept forgetting to bring it...well my beach bag was full of Chris's crap so I couldn't bring it either way>:O.

We cruised with Norwegian Gem for 7 days.  Rooming was kinda hectic because one person was in charge of registering more than 100 people (family and friends).  But it turned out great cause Chris and I were able to room together :)

Our cabin was nice and cozy!
Shower was spacious for a small cabin. It even had a clothing line on top for hanging up bathing suits.

Toilet wasn't comfy.

Main area.  The purple things are gems.

I think this was salmon tar tar?

Or was this salmon tar tar? Chris was impatient and took a bite of the bread.

Lobster!

Chris's steak or prime rib..idk.

Chris's dessert.

Orange sherbet for myself.

Hahah what is this? Pumpkin salad?

Curry with coconut shrimp.  Wasn't that good.

This cheesecake was so good! It was light and not too cheesy!

"Vietnamese" roll with papaya salad. It was OK.

Greek Salad?

I ordered fish.

Chris's jambalaya fish

lamb chops I think..

We got a table next to the window! This was when we were in Florida.

Tiramisu! SO DELICIOUS!

We watched the sunset together while drinking haha

Florida!

Florida after the sunset.

We ate outside for lunch. Seagulls were harassing the people who sat near the railing.

We took a tender boat to Norwegian Cruise Line's private resort.

I didn't take any pictures of the beach because it was so crowded!

Chris and I went snorkeling! I wish I had an underwater camera.  We saw so many tropical fish and coral! I don't know how to swim so Chris had to drag me like a tug boat -.-

Beef Empanada

Pumpkin gnocchi? It was pretty good!

Some British dessert...I can't recall the name right now. Pure deliciousness!

So Chris and I were total fatties (well more him than me :D considering I only had one entree while he had three for dinner) and ate at the 24/7 cafe at like 2AM almost every night.

Tuna sandwich

Fish and chips

At Nassau, Bahamas we went to this resort called The Atlantis.

Took a taxi cab there.

Right outside of the resort.

Inside the casino.

We (and Chris's whole family) decided to go to the aquarium that was under the hotel.  It's crazy how much money and upkeep an aquarium requires.  They test the water every three hours?  The whole area was enormous!   We probably walked around 2-3 miles exploring the whole resort.  The only thing that sucked was that it was so humid.

Looks like he's saying herp.

Hahah fish giving Chris the stink eye

The resort!

A small scale representation of the area. Reminds me of the opening sequence of Game of Thrones.

Some gift shop.

The ship!

Pork sausage?

Salad

Tomato soup

Fish

Chris's  8th prime rib

Chicken skewers

lol. Chris's chocolate dessert.

Sundae! yum!

Fish

Eggplant parm

Lemon sorbet

Those are most of the pics that I took with my camera which is broken now :( Well it's not...the lens is stuck.  I need to upload pictures off of my phone.
