Food and Stuff

I lost a total of 8 lbs since my last post! The app, MyFitnessPal, has helped me count calories and keep track of what I've been eating so far.  If you're looking to lose weight the lazy way (not exercising) download the app! I'm gonna use my livingsocial gym deal in Feb.

lol, I ate this before starting my diet.  I bought a google offer to Artichoke Pizza in NYC.  OMG, it's so good but I read that one slice is like 1300 calories :( I had two that night and made sure to walk a few miles lol.

One of my favorite foods in the whole world.. lasagna! I used Mrs. Dreamfields low carb lasagna noodles to offset the calories and I also mixed spinach with the ricotta cheese to make it some what healthy.
I told my mom I'm on a diet and she went out to get a slice of cake for me -.-

I saw a review on the travalo on youtube and immediately ordered one off of ebay for a few dollars.  I love it!

The bottom has a cool pump

I can bring it on my trip to Vietnam that's coming up! :)   The travalo holds enough for 60 spritzes.  And I haven't experienced any spillage yet! It's a great buy if you travel often.

Pazuzu looking worried lol

I usually eat a whole box in one sitting but I managed to eat two sticks once a day lol.

Made curry

I got this at Mitsuwa. Ugh. The taste is good but consistency is so weird. It's like eating an eye ball or something.

My new gaming mouse :D!!!! I was looking for a new mouse since my old one kept squeaking every time I spammed clicks lol.  Based on the reviews, I ordered the Logitech g9x off of amazon.com. So far so good.  I really like how I can control the sensitivity and the feel of the mouse.

It came with weights. It's serious business lol.

Here is Lily being bad/silly.

We ordered pizza from Singa's

Salad from Trader Joes.

Roasted broccoli!! Instead of steaming or frying broccoli, try roasting them instead. I drizzled oil, sea salt, and ground pepper and roasted them at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes. And this is coming from a girl who didn't really enjoy eating them.

I'm gonna be a little more busy from now since I'm gonna be a bridesmaid :)! My two very close friends are engaged! I'm extremely happy and also very surprised that it's happening lol. I did not expect that at all but I'm so happy for them and wish them the best.  I can't wait to help plan the bachelorette party >:)
It also gives me an incentive to lose even more weight :P

November 2012

Ah another monthly update -.-.  I've been busy doing a patch skin study for the month of November. Since the clinical study place is near the mall..it's torture driving there every other day.  $$$ is going towards the Vietnam trip that's coming up very soon!! 4 months left!

Chris bought pizza stones (non glazed ceramic) from Home Depot or Lowes for a few dollars and we've been making pizza for a couple of weeks now.
Chris's pizza sauce concoction lol
Pazuzu being curious
I rolled the dough out flat on parchment paper

We didn't make the dough which I heard is a big hassle...we bought pizza dough from Trader Joe's for 1.29. Don't get whole wheat! It's bland and doesn't get as crispy as the regular/ garlic and basil dough.

We put bell peppers, mushrooms, chicken sausage (was pretty dry..), and basil on our pizzas.

Chirs's brother and his wife recently moved 10 minutes away from me! They asked us to look after Mac for a few hours to go furniture shopping, and we met up with them in Hoboken.  I was craving roti canai so I told Chris about Satay Malaysian on Washington Street.  We parked near 14th street and walked ALL the way downtown Hoboken. I hate walking in the cold weather but the food was worth it.
roti
Malaysian tom yum soup
Of course we have to order curry
Coconut shrimp! It was very delicious but a little salty.  I forgot to take pictures of the rice but they didn't look anything special.  This restaurant offers coconut rice and ginger rice which went well with our dishes. I'm glad getting to Hoboken is a hassle or else I'd be spending so much money on eating out!

Thanksgiving with Chris's family

Ahh, I forgot to take pics of my onion dip and my cheesecake :(  Both were said to be excellent hehe. I used Martha Stewart's onion dip recipe  and this double layer pumpkin cheesecake

Since I'm a hardcore sales lover I had to go to Macy's for Black Friday

Chris and I didn't wait that long on the line to get into Macy's.  They opened the doors at 11:55 and as soon as we set foot into the store we jetted to the basement to get...
I've been eyeing the Circulon cookware set to get for Chris's parents for a long time now.  $99 dollars for 11 pieces! Set is regularly priced at 230.00 hahah what a deal.  I also got a blender (which Chris found) for 10 dollars!  He got an electric skillet and some other thing for 10 dollars each.
While I was making my cheesecake, Lily tried to swat at Timmy who was on  my lap.
Here's Pazuzu after kicking Lily off the chair.

Post Thanksgiving dinner pics

Ddukbokki from Totowa in Pal Park

Spicy tuna kim bap from Totowa

I made Chris an easy dinner using a recipe that I found on a blog,  Chris likes clams and I'm not the greatest chef in the world so it was perfect.   Seriously, Trader Joe's is so awesome! 4 dollars for a box of delicious frozen clams pre seasoned for you. There's always a few boxes left of the steamer clams whenever I go to Trader's.  Gahh I'm so lucky that I work right next to Trader Joe's :)

Chris and my mom enjoyed the clams so much that we made it again!  This time we added shrimp and asparagus.  My mom really likes angel hair pasta so we cooked that instead of linguine.
Made smoothie yogurts using my 10 dollar blender :)
I added granola bought from Trader Joe's
Chris made us avocado shakes!! :)
Lily
She's so cute!!!
And here's Timmy being a creeper in my t-shirt.

Overview of October 2012

I'm so glad I don't have a large audience D: I've been super busy with Comic-con, my birthday with Chris <3, Halloween...and not to mention HURRICANE SANDY! I've been without power for the past two days and it sucked! I'm so thankful and relieved that my loved ones and house are OK. So grateful to have electricity back.....my work is all messed up cause my lab work depends on electricity!  I kinda hope that I don't have to go into work tomorrow haha.

So my birthday was on the 8th! I spent the whole three day weekend with Chris :D.  I think the only thing we did was eat and go to the mall lol.  Uniqlo is open at GSP so I bought a bunch of crap from there as a birthday gift to myself.

My mom got me a slice of strawberry shortcake from Paris Baguette

Think we ate at Mitsuwa and Chris got me a redbean cake.

Pa De Thai in Edgewater, NJ

I think it's the sister restaurant to Thai Charm Kitchen in Fort Lee, NJ.

thai iced tea

roti canai :)

panang curry

the usual pad thai

I think on Sunday Chris took me to Houston's <3_<3
which is my favorite restaurant in the whole entire world!

cute Chris <3

Hawaiian rib eye <333

Chris's cheeseburger lol

My coworkers took me out to lunch! Whoo hoo.  I love it when we go out for lunch because that means I don't have to pack lunch for the next day.
I suggested we ate at Brooklyn's Brick Oven Pizzeria in Edgewater, NJ (because it's next to Starbucks hahah)

I got a personal pan with peppers and mushrooms

My boss bounced early so my supervisor told me to get dessert hehe

cannoli

Anyway, Comic-con was a bust >:O.  Cathy and I woke up super early to get autographs from Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy artist) but super nerds waited on line around 9PM the day before. Bleh.  I probably won't go next year.  It was just us walking around in a crowd.  Plus I didn't get any free swag except for a crappy bag. When Chris and I went last year, we ended up with bags of free stuff!

After Comic-con, I took Lily to the vet to get spayed.  :(

Lucy the other bird. She's super friendly and cute.
Lily as a tiny kitten!!!

:(

It's been two weeks since her surgery, so she's fine and healthy now.  I feel like she's less wild haha.  She was a trooper and let me give her antibiotics.

So for Halloween I suggested that we dressed up as the girls from Mortal Kombat!! I've been wanting to do this costume ever since I was young haha.  I chose to go as Mileena because she's one of my favorite MK characters.  It was a bitch trying to get the stretchy fabric.  Thankfully, Chris is an awesome bf and went to Joann's for us to get the blue and green for Kitana and Jade.  There was no purple in the stretch fabric so I got pink instead :/  Oh well...at least I stood out haha.

Cathy helping me make my boot cover

The costumes came out great and we decided to go out twice to show off :D
Friday we went to Whisper near Ktown.  The venue was nice and drinks were free! We were treated really well because it was just the three of us haha.

pho on Saturday to get rid of our hangovers

On Saturday, we went to Capitale in Chinatown.

We actually paid 20.  Price went up to almost 200 for a ticket!

Here we are!!
So many people took pictures of us! I felt like a celebrity haha. I regret not doing her fangs...but I wanted to eat and drink :(.

I think I want to do Street Fighter with Chris next year! How cute is that? Chun-Li and Ryu :)

Hurricane Sandy

Oh boy, what a disaster.  I'm just so grateful that my friends and I just lost power.  It was annoying of course but better than losing power than anything else.  So happy that everyone is ok.

Cats were hanging out with me during the storm.  Pazuzu took up all the space while Timmy was trying to stay on the chair.
Edgewater got flooded.  This is the boat that's docked across from my work....

I hung out with Candice and her family who also lost power.  We went to Koa Koa in Fort Lee to charge our electronics.

Candice cooked me filet mignon on her grill. We had a romantic candlelight dinner  :D
And today, I went over to hang out with them again.  By the FedEx gods, Candice and her sister received their iPhones!  So a majority of the afternoon was spent trying to get to a verizon store but it turned out that they didn't need to go to Verizon -.-.  Phones were activated and they just needed to call a number.  We got Chinese take out and I bounced after learning I got power back at my house lol.
